Get To Know Me
What motivated you to pursue a healthy/balanced lifestyle?

My sport, specifically at the professional level! As I get older and continue playing, a healthy lifestyle is vital. Good sleep, vitamins, nutrition, and recovery become part of the job and not just “good suggestions” for better performance.

What’s your favorite guilty pleasure food?

I LOVE donuts. But it’s definitely become a food for special occasions and vacations, or every once in awhile.

How do you like to start each day?

I wake up about an hour early each day to drink coffee, eat breakfast and read outside. I try not to spend any time on my phone/technology until I’ve done that for about 1/2 an hour. Slow mornings are one of my favorite things aboht the day.

Tell us a bit more about your journey with volleyball. What’s next for you?

I played volleyball at Purdue University in Indiana, about 2 hours from home. Professionally, I have played 2 seasons in Puerto Rico and one season in Italy. Next season I’ll be playing in Istanbul, Turkey! I’m in my second season with the USA Volleyball Womens National team, and I’m fortunate enough to spend my summers in SoCal training
with some of the best players in the world – past and future Olympians & Olympic hopefuls.

How do you stay motivated? Any tips for our readers?

Reminding myself it’s a marathon, not a race. I’m around so many great women each day who have accomplished so much yet stay so hungry for more improvement. We pride ourselves on doing difficult things, so living outside of our comfort zones in order to get a few inches better each day motivates us. My advice is to find a worthy pursuit for
yourself and don’t resort to settling for something just because it’s comfortable to you. If I’m not uncomfortable or challenged by something, then I’m completely uninterested in pursuing it.

How do you like to end each day?

Facetiming family and loved ones. Usually I’m in a different country or time zone with how much we travel, but seeing and hearing from people outside of my volleyball relationships relaxs me after a long day.

Why is protein such an important part of your diet?

Recovery! Protein helps my muscles recover from training and equips me for another day. Also, we travel a lot, and solid protein sources aren’t available, so finding protein dense products to use while we are on the road is huge.

What’s your favorite Sprout Living product and Why?
