Why We Offer Samples: The Sprout Living Way

Before you spend the full price on any of our Epic Proteins we recommend you try our discounted samples to see if our products are for you. We love all of our products but the simple fact is that different people have different tastes and we don't want any of our Sprouts to waste their time and money on a product they don't enjoy. It may not seem like the most lucrative business practice but Sprout Living wants to be more than just a business. We started Sprout Living because we realized that eating sprouts made us feel good and we wanted to spread the word. We want to be an active part of the vegan and raw communities. And, we understand that good health comes from more than just what you eat. We want to encourage healthy living for the the whole you -- for the soul and mind, not just the body.

There are three main pillars of our mission: Product Innovation, Sharing Knowledge, Green Life. Product Innovation means that we're committed to finding your the best ingredients and the best methods to get those ingredients into your body. On every product page we list our ingredients, the process that gets them into our products, and what their benefit is to you. And we're not satisfied with just that either, we're committed to self improvement -- we're always looking for the best new techniques and ingredients. Sharing Knowledge means exactly that, when we learn something new or interesting we want you to know about it. We love our ingredients and we want the world to know how great they are. Staying healthy and committed to raw and vegan lifestyles isn't always easy and we want to help people stay on track in whatever way we can. Green Life means doing our part in saving the earth. Many people embrace this lifestyle in part because they recognise that we need to change the way we treat our planet. There is only one planet earth and we shouldn't treat it as if we can always get a new one -- because we can't. The earth is our home and sprout Living does whatever it can to advocate and support practices that can help reduce our footprint on our home.

So a sample is more than just a marketing ploy. It's a promise. It's a promise that we'll always treat our customers as people. It's a promise that the quality of our products will never diminish. And it's a promise that we'll remain dedicated to healthy living.

Mesquite: Desert Nutrition

Mesquite legumes

Mesquite is a truly American superfood -- both North and South! You can find mesquite in the Sonoran, Chihuahuan, Mojave and Colorado deserts and many dry, arid areas in the southwestern part of the United States. In landscapes where most creatures would waste away mesquite thrives -- it's one of the toughest plants around. It's sharp thorns can be up to three inches long and they are capable of piercing shoes shoes and even tires. Its roots burrow deep into the earth to draw out the water that's not available above ground. These taproots can go as deep as 190 feet. And mesquite actively switches what part of the earth it gets water from, depending on where it finds the most. It's so good at finding water that it often frustrates ranches because it can steal all the water from rangeland grasses. Many desert animals depend upon mesquite's bean pods as a water source.

It is greatly beneficial to humans as well! People too have depended on mesquite for nutrition and water for centuries. Southwestern Native American tribes regularly harvested and ground mesquite pods into a flour that was used to make a variety of meals and sweet (sometimes alcoholic) drinks. Mesquite is full of magnesium, potassium, iron, calcium, fiber, zinc. The human body easily metabolizes it so you get the energy you need from it right away. Plus, it is naturally sweet!

Our Epic Proteins Chocolate Maca and Vanilla Lucuma have plenty of mesquite!

Cacao: the "Food of the Gods"

DETALLE SEMILLAS_CACAO

The ancient Aztecs and Mayans considered cacoa a sacred plant. Priests offered cacoa beans up to the gods in tribute and included cacoa drinks in religious ceremonies. Captured territories were often required to surrender portions of their cacoa crop as a sort of tax. They so valued the bean that they even occasionally used it as currency. It is said that a whole turkey cost a hundred cacoa beans. They might not have been a scientifically advanced society, but they didn’t need to be to recognize the value of this amazing plant.

Cacoa beans have a high quantity of flavonoids, which can be beneficial to your heart health. Flavonoids decrease bad cholesterol and increase good, plus they lower blood pressure. Diabetes sufferers are often prescribed cacoa as regular consumption of flavonoids improves the ability and health of blood vessels. Unhealthy blood vessels are the leading cause of the heart problems in diabetics. And it’s lucky we don’t cook our products because flavonoids tend to disintegrate when cooked. Cacoa is also rich in Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium, Copper, Manganese and Zinc.

Cacoa can be found in our Epic Protein Chocolate Maca and our Probiotic Chocolate Almonds.

Chlorophyll: Go Green!

Chlorophyll (3240929419)

Ever wonder what makes your favorite veggies so green? Its Chlorophyll! Chlorophyll is a green pigment biomolecule that is essential to photosynthesis, the process that allows plants to convert sunlight into energy. Plants simply could not survive and grow without it. And without plants we simply could not survive and grow. Additionally, chlorophyll can be very beneficial to your health. It's a natural and powerful antioxidant that is often used as a detoxifier. It helps replenish and increase our number of blood cells which can reverse the effects of anemia. It has anti-inflammatory properties and can speed up the healing process of cuts and help fight off infections. Some scientists believe that it may even have natural cancer fighting abilities. Plus, it neutralizes unpleasant odors which is why you'll find it in plenty of mouthwashes and chewing gums.

Cooking plants results in a significant loss of chlorophyll. You can see this process right before your eyes too -- think about how the color of spinach changes after you cook it for an extended period of time. Luckily, none of our products are cooked!

All of our products are plant based so they all have chloropyhll but here are two particularly green ones:
Sproutein: Perfect Protein and Broccoli & Kale Sprouts Powder Mix.

Bio-Fermented Brown Rice Protein

When it comes to protein QUALITY over QUANTITY is the name of the game. As humans we need relatively low to moderate amounts of protein for optimal health. At Sprout Living we know that it's the ease of breakdown and absorbability of our protein sources that counts. By sprouting our organic brown rice, and even taking it one step further by bio-fermenting, we unlock amino acids, create shorter protein molecule chains, and drastically improve the bodies ability to actually utilize the nutrients found in our Epic Protein.
